Care-i ideea: telefonul \u0103sta a fost livrat cu versiunea 2.1 de Android, adic\u0103 Eclair; toate bune \u0219i frumoase. La nici 2-3 luni dup\u0103 lansare a ap\u0103rut versiunea 2.2 (Froyo), care aduce dou\u0103 mari \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021biri: un nou JIT (ceea ce se traduce \u00eentr-o \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bire major\u0103 a vitezei de rulare a aplica\u021biilor) \u0219i posibilitatea de a instala aplica\u021biile pe cardul de memorie (iar\u0103\u0219i o chestie important\u0103, pentru c\u0103 cei 128 Mb ai telefonului se umpleau relativ repede cu aplica\u021bii).<\/p>\n

Nu continua\u021bi s\u0103 citi\u021bi dec\u00e2t dac\u0103 v\u0103 intereseaz\u0103 subiectul. Altfel, risca\u021bi o durere major\u0103 de cap \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Boon. Legendu’ a fost lansat odat\u0103 cu Desire-ul, \u0103sta din urm\u0103 fiind considerat v\u00e2rful de gam\u0103 \u0219i primind update-ul oficial de Froyo prin iulie 2010. Fratelui mai mic Legend (dar nu cu mult mai ieftin) i s-a promis acela\u0219i update oficial prin septembrie. \u00cen septembrie s-a am\u00e2nat pentru octombrie, \u00een octombrie s-a promis jur\u00e2nd pe ro\u0219u c\u0103 vine update-ul \u00een noiembrie, \u0219i bine\u00een\u021beles c\u0103 a trecut \u0219i noiembrie f\u0103r\u0103 nici o veste. \u00cen tot timpul \u0103sta, diverse filiale ale HTC tot postau pe Twitter “Froyo pe Legend vine \u00een c\u00e2teva zile”, “v\u0103 mul\u021bumim pentru \u00een\u021belegere”, bla bla. P\u00e2n’ la urm\u0103 Mark Moons (directorul pe Europa al HTC) a promis c\u0103 vine “de Mo\u0219 Nicolae”, \u0219i nici atunci n-a venit. Motivul a fost explicat printr-o men\u021biune de genul “ne pare r\u0103u, dar inginerii no\u0219tri lucreaz\u0103 din greu pentru a se asigura c\u0103 nu vor fi probleme cu update-ul”. M\u0103 rog.<\/p>\n

\u00centre timp, s-a \u00eent\u00e2mplat alt\u0103 m\u0103g\u0103rie. De\u0219i HTC anun\u021ba c\u0103 telefoanele nebranduite de operatori vor fi primele actualizate la Froyo, \u00een realitate a fost tocmai invers: Legend-urile v\u00e2ndute de Vodafone au primit update-ul de Froyo pe la sf\u00e2r\u0219itul lui noiembrie. Evident, scandal, panaram\u0103, de ce ei \u00eent\u00e2i<\/em>, huo Vodafone<\/em> \u0219i tot a\u0219a. Unii s-au apucat de debranduit ROM-ul de Froyo scos pentru Vodafone \u0219i l-au instalat a\u0219a cum era, pe principiul “o fi \u0219i \u0103sta bun”. Al\u021bii \u0219i-au pus diverse ROM-uri f\u0103cute de useri de pe XDA \u0219i Modaco, sau deja celebrul CyanogenMod. Am \u00eencercat \u0219i eu un ROM de pe Modaco, un CyanogenMod RC (release candidate) … nu mi-au pl\u0103cut, plus c-aveau bug-uri, a\u0219a c\u0103 \u00eenapoi la 1.31.405.5 WWE \u0219i a\u0219teptam cuminte update-ul oficial. <\/p>\n

Cum \u0103\u0219tia tot \u00eent\u00e2rziau, \u0219i \u00eentre timp a ap\u0103rut CyanogenMod 6.1 final, am zis s\u0103-l \u00eencerc din nou. \u0218i mi-a pl\u0103cut, deci am r\u0103mas cu el de c\u00e2teva zile. Ca-n legile lui Murphy, imediat dup\u0103 asta a ap\u0103rut \u0219i update-ul oficial cu Froyo de la HTC \ud83d\ude00 dar ce-a ie\u0219it dup\u0103, m-a f\u0103cut s\u0103 m\u0103 bucur c-am ales varianta CyanogenMod. <\/p>\n

Aici vine m\u0103g\u0103ria: update-ul de la HTC se pare c\u0103 nu este un WWE “curat” (adic\u0103 un ROM integral, care s\u0103 poate fi instalat pe orice telefon). Ca atare, se \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103 urm\u0103toarele chestii:<\/p>\n

– cei care au pus ROM-ul cu Froyo pentru Vodafone au acum un CID al dispozitivului care nu-i compatibil cu update-ul OTA de Froyo de la HTC, rezultatul fiind c\u0103 telefonul r\u0103m\u00e2ne blocat la ecranul cu triunghi ro\u0219u
\n– cei care au actualizat la 2.2 cu update.zip \u0219i un goldcard r\u0103m\u00e2n cu telefonul blocat \u00een bootloop
\n– cei care n-au intervenit cu nimic asupra telefonului (nu root, nu debranding) descarc\u0103 update-ul \u0219i primesc mesajul c\u0103 arhiva este corupt\u0103 (a\u0219 zice c\u0103 \u0103\u0219tia sunt cei mai ferici\u021bi)<\/p>\n

Ca s\u0103 fie mai distractiv, update-ul cu Froyo pentru Vodafone modific\u0103 \u0219i ni\u0219te parametri ai bootloaderului, fapt care face extrem de dificil\u0103 (dac\u0103 nu imposibil\u0103) revenirea la o versiune mai veche prin actualizare cu RUU. Oricum ar fi pus\u0103 problema, HTC a dat-o MAJOR \u00een bar\u0103 cu update-ul \u0103sta. Cei care-au reu\u0219it s\u0103 duc\u0103 update-ul la cap\u0103t se pl\u00e2ng deja de probleme cu Market-ul, care crap\u0103.<\/p>\n
